The Route Data: Regional or Nationwide

The most detailed and up-to-date route information available - these turn-by-turn (TBT) descriptions include mileage between turns, landmarks, and latitude/longitude of every waypoint, as well as general route information.  If you request regional data set includes the state-level data, so you don't need to request that as well. 

In honor of the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, the route data will be free in 2026, courtesy of Indiana Trails.  

The price is set to zero dollars; however, to obtain the download you do need to provide contact details so that the American Discovery Trail Society has the ability to send you updates about the trail and the route.

** The Eastern data set covers the trail from the eastern terminus at Cape Henlopen in Delaware to Cincinnati.

** The Central Region has two data sets covering the northern and southern branches of the trail from Cincinnati to Denver.

** The Western Region covers the trail from Denver to the western terminus at Point Reyes, California.

When you request the data you will be emailed a link which when clicked will download a ZIP file to your system containing the GPX files. When updates are made to any of the the files you will receive an update link as well as future data set updates.
